this blog unfortunately has taken a back seat and a lot has happened. First, in early January I was featured in the local newspaper along with several other folks as a blogger...I had mentioned to the reporter that I had invented link poetry (which was true to the best of my knowledge at the time)..in fact I had already had it written here for quite a while. I had to retract it, however, when my friend Dave More produced earlier link poetry. Was glad to get that behind me. I'm a link poetry historian, innovator, practitioner (and all those are being generous to myself) but not an "inventor"...anyway.
...stayed away from active blogging here, partly out of embarrassment that my actualism research never materialized. I did ZIP about it. That's 'cause I joined a band and started making music. But I don't even have time for that...anyway, all of the poetry has fallen off. the haiku, the boxcars, everything. the music, culmination of a lifelong dream, kind of took over a corner of my spirit.
but speaking of actualism, a tornado ripped into Iowa City on Apr. 14, ripping selective roofs off of such structures as St. Pats and a sorority house...god uses roofing nails for punctuation...
and now, along comes "fib" poems, using 0-1-1-2-3-5-8-13-21-34-55-89...most people stop at 8 or 13. Will link to them a.s.a.p. so you can get my drift. Some of these, I've seen, are linked, especially in the comments of the original fib weblog, which keeps freezing up my IE.
Dave also is doing link poetry, unprovoked, unrewarded (as far as I know), unpaid, and not famous yet. We were there then...i seen it - and know, that the spirit moves, thru hypertext & the april wind.
